Chinemerem “Obi” Obi is a dynamic Petroleum Engineering graduate of Texas A&M University with specialized expertise in well construction, completions, stimulation, and flow assurance.
During his time at TAMU, Obi demonstrated exceptional leadership and service as Treasurer of CUSC‑SPE, Graduate Student Representative for TAMU‑SPE, and captain of the TAMU PetroBowl team. His academic excellence earned him competitive fellowships and scholarships, including the Chevron Fellowship, the SPE Imomoh Fellowship, the Faculty Excellence Award for his Master’s research, and support from the National Society of Black Engineers.
Obi’s career is driven by a passion for advancing upstream oil and gas operations—from drilling and well completions to complex flow‑assurance challenges. He thrives at the intersection of rigorous technical analysis and practical field applications, always seeking innovative solutions to enhance safety and efficiency. Outside the energy sector, Obi enjoys sports, competitive chess, global travel, and immersing himself in diverse cultures and histories, reflecting his belief that broad perspectives fuel creative problem‑solving
