JOB OVERVIEW:
CCUS (Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage) specialists in the oil and gas industry play a crucial role in addressing environmental concerns related to carbon emissions.
CCUS directly addresses the CO2 emissions caused by traditional oil and gas production, industrial practices, farming and much more. CCUS engineers develop new approaches and technologies to find ways of removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, developing alternatives uses for it, and moving it into permanent storage, often in saline aquifers or depleted subsurface oil and gas reservoirs.
This developing field shares many techniques and practices with the oil and gas industry, as well as using similar geography for subsurface storage.
